Dr. Curtis Calabrese is a Boca Raton native, Navy combat veteran, commercial airline captain, professor, and former FAA inspector.

From Boca Raton to a life of service

Curtis was born and raised in Boca Raton and received a nomination to the United States Naval Academy from former Congressman Ron Klein. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 2012 and went on to serve as a Navy reconnaissance pilot, flying missions in demanding environments around the world.

After military service, Curtis continued his commitment to safety and public service. He served as a Federal Aviation Administration inspector, worked on aircraft accident investigations, and became a commercial airline captain.

He later earned a Master of Science with Distinction from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a PhD from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.

Today, Curtis teaches, conducts research, and works in aviation safety. Across those roles, the standard is the same: prepare carefully, use evidence, communicate clearly, and remain accountable for the result.

Why he is running now

Palm Beach County is growing, and residents feel the effects in traffic, public services, emergency readiness, and the cost of government. Curtis is running for Palm Beach County Commission, District 4, because those challenges require disciplined planning and leadership that explains decisions before asking residents to live with the consequences.

His priorities are practical: make Palm Beach County more affordable, protect taxpayers, manage growth responsibly, reduce traffic through smarter infrastructure, and keep communities safe by supporting first responders.
